Grand Banks 72 Aleutian Raised Pilothouse

The Grand Banks 72 Aleutian Raised Pilothouse represents the pinnacle of the marque's long-range cruising philosophy, combining timeless styling with exceptional comfort, stability, and confidence at sea. Designed for owners who value comfort, efficiency, and confident passagemaking, the Aleutian 72 is renowned for her robust construction, practical layout, and exceptional liveability. 'Encore' presents as a refined and highly capable platform for cruising and entertaining in comfort.

Boarding via the teak-laid hi/lo swim platform, access to the massive cockpit is available from both port and starboard teak-laid steps. The spacious teak-laid cockpit is designed for serious entertaining, centred around a large dining table comfortably seating eight with ample room to still move about the cockpit for other non-seated guests. Additional forward-facing fixed aft seating provides a further relaxed vantage point, while three-sided clears help shield the cockpit from inclement weather. Acrylic wing doors on each side deck close off the cockpit in blustery conditions. A custom top-opening beverage fridge further enhances the utility of this space, making it ideal for spending extended time on deck.

Entering through sliding doors, the saloon welcomes guests with classic Grand Banks craftsmanship and a warm, inviting atmosphere. To port, a generous sofa faces a hi/lo Samsung TV, while two additional chairs to starboard create a balanced and social layout. A dedicated bar area is positioned forward to port, ideal for entertaining onboard. 'Encore' is equipped with Starlink satellite internet, ensuring connectivity and endless entertainment options while cruising.

Stepping up to the raised pilothouse level, the U-shaped galley is located to port and is exceptionally well-appointed. The appliance suite includes two sets of Sub-Zero double drawer fridge/freezers, an additional Sub-Zero double drawer freezer, a Miele four-element induction cooktop, Bosch oven, LG microwave, and Miele dishwasher. Thoughtful storage and bench space make this galley equally suited to passagemaking. Adjacent to the helm station to starboard is the dinette area, featuring comfortable seating arranged around a table, perfectly positioned to remain connected to both helm and galley activities.

The raised pilothouse is a true command centre, offering excellent visibility and a confident helm position designed for passagemaking. A centreline Stidd helm chair sits in front of a comprehensive Garmin electronics suite, featuring quad 16" multifunction displays, delivering outstanding navigational capability. Docking and close-quarters manoeuvring are made effortless thanks to Naiad hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and a Yacht Controller wireless remote for added flexibility. She features Naiad hydraulic fin stabilisers while underway for maximum guest comfort. Port and starboard pilothouse doors, fitted with retractable phantom insect screens, provide direct access to the side decks and also excellent natural ventilation, while internal stairs lead seamlessly to the flybridge above.

Below deck, 'Encore' offers a versatile and spacious five-cabin layout, comprising four guest cabins plus dedicated aft crew accommodation. Midships, the full-beam master suite features a queen bed and a private ensuite. A Samsung TV completes the space. Forward, the VIP cabin offers a centreline double bed, private ensuite, and a Samsung TV. To starboard are two additional guest cabins, one configured with two single side-by-side beds and an overhead pullman berth, and the other with an offset double bed with an athwartships overhead single berth. A separate bathroom to port, which services the two additional guest cabins, is also used as the day head and includes its own enclosed shower stall, catering for daytime and or overnight guests.

Accessed via the watertight transom door, the crew cabin features upper and lower bunks, storage, and a separate crew bathroom with wet head. An Asko washing machine and separate Asko dryer are also located in this space.

Accessed via the cockpit stairs or internally from the pilothouse, the flybridge provides an expansive secondary helm and entertaining space with excellent sightlines and versatility. Underfoot, her durable non-skid painted deck finish minimises maintenance, and the entire area is protected from the elements by a hardtop with an additional aft bimini for extended shade - the flybridge area is equally suited to passagemaking or relaxed time at anchor. Twin Stidd helm seats are positioned at the upper station, complemented by a Garmin electronics suite, ensuring operational consistency between helms. Entertaining amenities include a portable gas BBQ, Vitrifrigo ice maker, Isotherm bar fridge, and a custom top-opening beverage fridge located on the aft boat deck. Generous port and starboard seating areas with tables create inviting social zones, while aft, an AB 14 AL RIB is securely stored and launched via the Aritex davit, a practical and well-considered setup.

Back on the lower deck, wide walkaround non-skid finish side decks and high bulwarks ensure safe and practical movement forward. The bow area features two moulded settees with tables, offering an inviting space to enjoy panoramic views at anchor. Ground tackle is substantial, with dual 80kg/176lbs S/S Ultra anchors supported by dual Maxwell 3500 hydraulic windlasses and 13mm galvanised chains.

The engine room is accessed from a watertight door in the transom, or via internal access from the Master Cabin offering a practical alternative or emergency access route, reflecting the thoughtful design of the Aleutian series. Grand Banks' hallmark quality engineering is apparent throughout the machinery space. Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines and supported by twin Onan 17.5kW generators, 'Encore' is further equipped with an Idromar water maker for extended time away from the dock.

'Encore' delivers the reassuring capability, volume, and refinement that define the Grand Banks Aleutian series. With a proven design, breathtaking profile, and pedigree from one of the industry's most respected builders, she stands ready for her next chapter of adventure and entertaining.
